About me

English teacher with 2 years experience, here to help you master the art of English

My name is Mercy Nyamutowa . I’m a forester transitioning into teaching English, combining a love of language with years of place-based, experiential education. Working in forests taught me observation, systems thinking, clear communication, curriculum design, and how to explain complex ideas to varied audiences—skills I’ll bring to the English classroom Classroom approach: ・ Place-based prompts and short field observations that feed descriptive and narrative writing. ・ Project-based work (school magazine, podcast, multimedia exhibit) blending research, interviewing, and revision. ・ Explicit grammar, vocabulary (morphology/etymology), and rhetorical instruction tied to student writing. ・ Differentiation and translanguaging supports for multilingual learners; multiple genres for assessment.
