International opera singer helping you sing, speak and shine with confidence!
I’m Ihor Mostovoi, a Ukrainian-Canadian baritone, performer, and vocal teacher. My professional journey has taken me to stages including the Opéra national de Paris, the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Opéra national du Rhin, the Opéra national de Bordeaux, the Opéra Grand Avignon, and Lincoln Center in New York.
I studied at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music in Montréal and the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris. Throughout my career, I’ve participated in numerous international singing competitions, receiving recognition including First Prize in the opera category at the International Singing Competition of Marmande in 2021 and the André Bachand Award at the Concours musical international de Montréal in 2025.
But you don’t need to become a professional singer to benefit from my experience. I’m here to help you discover your voice, develop your skills, and feel more confident using them.
Singing: Your Voice, Your Style
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced singer, we can work on the music you love. Opera and classical music are part of my background, but singing isn’t limited to one style. Pop, rock, jazz, musical theatre, and other genres can all be part of our work together.
Depending on your goals, we’ll explore vocal technique, breathing, diction, pronunciation, musical style, interpretation, and expression. We can prepare a song, work on audition repertoire, improve your performance, or simply help you enjoy singing more freely.
I also offer guidance on languages and pronunciation, stylistic details, stage presence, and the artistic choices that help make a performance feel authentic and convincing.
Public Speaking: Feel Comfortable Being Heard
You don’t have to be a singer to benefit from working on your voice.
If presentations make you nervous, if you struggle to project your voice, or if you’d like to communicate more clearly and confidently at work, university, or in everyday life, we can work on that too.
Together, we’ll practise breathing, articulation, vocal projection, intonation, pacing, and body language. We’ll also explore practical ways to manage nerves, connect with an audience, and present your ideas naturally.
The goal isn’t to turn you into someone else. It’s to help you feel comfortable being yourself, even when all eyes are on you.
How We’ll Work Together
I believe good teaching starts with listening. Every student has different goals, strengths, and challenges, so I adapt my approach to the person in front of me.
Our lessons will be practical, focused, and supportive. We’ll identify what you want to achieve, work on the things that will make a difference, and build your skills step by step. You can ask questions, experiment, make mistakes, and learn at your own pace.
You don’t need previous singing experience, perfect pitch, or natural confidence. You just need the desire to learn.
Whether you want to sing your favourite song, prepare for an audition, improve your diction in another language, develop your stage presence, or feel more confident giving presentations, I’d be happy to help.
Let’s work on your voice, find what works for you, and help you feel confident expressing yourself on stage and beyond.
